Palo Santo

Updated: Sep 20, 2020

Are you put off by the smell of white sage but still want to cleanse your space?

Me too!

Although I use white sage when I am doing a big space clearing, my go to is Palo Santo for day to day energy management.

What is Palo Santo?

Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens) is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America and is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. In Spanish, the name literally means “Holy Wood”. It is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon. (credit to Sacred Wood Essence for this amazing description. www.sacredwoodessence.com)

As with any of the sacred herbs, you would light this wood with an intention to clear the space (or whatever you are cleansing). Removing all forms of negativity or negative energies and inviting your guides (and whomever else you work with ) to infuse the space with the qualities that you want - love, peace, open communication etc.

Allow the smoke to drift up walls and around your body for cleansing.

Remember to be grounded when you do this!
